Steve Godwin, The DOO at Enemy of Boredom said: “Riot Games have been a big inspiration for starting the EOB Esports Academy, I could see how young people could become stronger individuals by playing League of Legends. The guys at Riot Games have been very supportive, and through a chance meeting with Mo Fadl head of esports, we started making this course a reality.”
Riot Games was founded in 2006, in 2009, they released their best game so far, the League of Legends to the worldwide audiences. Since then, the game has gone on to become the most played PC game in the world, and one of the key games that grew eSports to the state it is today. At this moment, their headquarters are in Los Angeles, California, and they have 23 offices around the world. League of Legends is played by more than 67 million people per day, and the company employs more than 2,500 people.

Mo Fadl, Head of Esports at Riot Games said: “Riot is committed to furthering the esports ecosystem and providing new talent with an opportunity to learn and grow. We are very excited to help the EOB Esports Academy with their first tournament. Having spoken to the students taking part, I can already see myself working for them in the future!”
This partnership between Enemy of Boredom and Riot Games will bring the first official tournament to Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London. Also, the organization will take 13 students in one-of-a-kind course mentored by industry pros and other pro players. Over the last few weeks, students have been developing their skills in the management of eSports and learning on how to successfully manage a League of Legends team through various workshops, classes, and other learning forms. The main tournament will be held at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London, on August the 19th.
Don't you know what Red Bull Gaming Sphere is? We wrote a whole article about it, 16x PlayStation 4s, 6x Xbox Ones, 4x Nintendo Switches, 4x Nintendo Wii U and much more. You can read the article HERE.
We can only hope that this will not be the only cooperation between eSports organizations and game developers. The gaming market is continuously growing, and there are significant opportunities on every corner. For a long time now, we can see that many sports teams and companies invest in games and eSport teams, so this trend should continue to grow. We here at Small Teaser wish all the best to the EOB students, and good luck & have fun.
