Crowdfunded gaming successes that have already come out.

Here are 5 titles that are not only great but also exist thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign.

During the golden age of crowdfunding, with the rise of Kickstarter and Indiegogo, there were many titles with promises. Promises of reviving classic games, new ideas that major publisher would not bat an eye at, or simply a plea from a dev team to make a new project that they are enthusiastic about. But often everybody (dev included) forget how long games take to make. So long that often people forget about them, and they release too minimal fan fair. Shame too, since there real gems too.

But why make a list like this? To simply showcase that crowdfunding is still a viable option, and thanks to it, we can have amazing games come from it. Even if they take so long to make, that we forget about them.

Fast bikes and lethal pipes. Road Redemption had a goal to emulate classic road rage games (more obviously Road Rash). Drive a long road, either to race or to bash other bikers. Or often both. The game is pure wacky, fast-paced, brutal fun!

Rain World

In a dying world with a messed ecosystem, you play as small slugcat trying to survive. Based on classic titles that also showed alien worlds with nothing but hostiles, Rain World is difficult and beautiful. The standout of the game, aside from the great graphics, is the fact that every entity in the game has an active skeletal rig, making all movements realistic. And of course, it goes without saying, Slugcat is cute!

Sundered

From the makers of the underrated title Jotun, come Sundered. A hand-drawn Metroidvania, where you find yourself in a dead world with being from beyond. While a bit challenging for most players, the game is a blast to play and master. Beautiful all the way and worth the challenge.

Strafe

Ever wanted to play a game that is similar to the original Quake or other old twitch shooters? Well for those of us who had, we got the Strave project. Oldschool in every aspect, but still having enough of features that are possible with modern tools. Bombast, bloody and bouncy, Strafe is a fun trough back that actually can stay on its own legs, if they are not blown away.

Once there was a comic, about fantastic world with paladins, mages, and werewolves. But rather than being dull, it was exciting, with fun writing and fantastic artwork. That was Battle Chasers. And now, thanks to crowdfunding we have a battle Chasers game. Classic JRPG gameplay, same great writing (canonically this is a side story), same great art coupled, nice soundtrack. and overall a great experience.

And all thanks to crowdfunding.
